GB Exporting to UK
Bagasse Tableware Exporter from India to the United Kingdom
Pulpcraft supplies UK wholesalers, catering distributors and eco-packaging brands with sugarcane bagasse tableware made in India and shipped to UK deep-sea ports. Since England banned single-use plastic plates, bowls, trays and cutlery in October 2023, demand for genuine plastic-free alternatives has moved from nice-to-have to mandatory, and that is exactly what bagasse delivers.

What UK buyers need: EN 13432 and plastic-free by law
England’s ban on single-use plastic plates, bowls, trays, cutlery and polystyrene food containers took effect in October 2023, with Scotland and Wales running their own restrictions. Bagasse is uncoated sugarcane fibre with no plastic, so it sits on the right side of these rules. On tax, the UK Plastic Packaging Tax applies to plastic packaging with less than 30% recycled content: because bagasse tableware is plastic-free, it falls outside that charge, which is a real cost argument for your buyers. For compostability claims we work to EN 13432, the European standard UK composters recognise.
- Plastic-free sugarcane fibre, compliant with the England single-use plastic ban (from Oct 2023)
- Outside the scope of UK Plastic Packaging Tax (bagasse contains no plastic)
- Compostability to EN 13432 for industrial composting claims
- HS code 4823.70; import VAT and any duty confirmed under the UK Global Tariff

Bagasse tableware we export
Trusted by UK buyers
UK catering and hospitality buyers pull hardest on deep plates, sturdy bowls and compartment trays for events, canteens and takeaway; we hold those formats as core lines.
Typical UK buyers we serve: catering and janitorial wholesalers, eco-packaging distributors, hospitality groups and supermarket own-label buyers.
Factory-direct, at scale
India is one of the world’s largest sugarcane producers, giving a steady, low-cost bagasse supply. As one of the largest bagasse tableware exporters in India, Pulpcraft combines that raw-material advantage with certified manufacturing and full export handling, so UK buyers get competitive factory-direct pricing without sacrificing compliance.
